THESE COINS MAKE THE 56 CE START DATE FOR AT LEAST SOME OF THE ISSUE CERTAIN
Obverse: Bust of Vespasian to r., laureate. Greek inscription: AYTO[KPAOYECΠACIKAICAP]ICEBACTΩ "Emp[eror Vespasian Caesa]r Augustus". Reverse: Tyche-Demeter standing l., holding cornucopiae in l. hand and ears of grains in r. hand. Greek inscription across field: ET IE / BA / AΓP/ΠΠA (year 15 = 75-76 AD) "of King Agrippa". Variant of AJC 12 and TJC J 140 (Name of Agrippa without the letter I).
Æ 28mm (13.30 gm). Dated year 15 (74/5 CE). Laureate head of Vespasian right / Tyche standing left, holding grain ears and cornucopiae; ET IE in left field. Meshorer 140; Hendin 593; RPC II 2252.
